Chips In! Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic @Ascot #7/12/18

Well if you backed Viddora last week you were stiff. Always nice to know post race that she was unwell and hadn’t eaten for days before the race. Despite looking well she was off the bit at the 600m and she still hasn’t seen daylight. Our other selections were solid with Mapmaker at $6 getting the biscuits, while our best place bet and each way returned healthy dividends. We stay in the west this week with the running of the Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic worth a cool and lazy million. The last Group 1 of the year looks a beauty before heading back to Sydney for the Villiers. All of a sudden it’s Christmas, Magic Millions will be here, the Sydney autumn, the Brisbane winter, and then back to the people’s week! The year travels fast! Speaking of the people’s week, I would love to know your thoughts on The Golden Eagle. $7.5 million dollar race for 4 year olds at Rosehill on Derby Day. What effect will this have on the Australian Racing Landscape? Last edition for the year next week with the Villiers before a massive 2019 that will see this website transition into The Chips In Racing App. We have secured major sponsors which will ensure a feature program preview every week after release #chasethesun #edserprise #chipslife #chipsin #app

Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic (Group 1)

Arcadia Queen will start favourite around the $2 mark after a slashing win in The Group 2 W.A. Guineas over 1600m. Barrier 6 ensures a soft run, William Pike has stuck with her, 50kg is a gift, and 1800m looks perfect at this stage of her preparation. Not my top selection but the one to beat. I am concerned this is an afterthought

Galaxy Star has drawn the car park (14) but is flying. Her win in The Group 1 Railway Stakes had to be seen to believe and she is the real deal. $5 looks a good price despite the draw and weight difference, I think she can run over the top of her stable mate late. Good value and the one I am with.

Gatting was great behind Galaxy Star. Should peak third up from a spell, while the 1800m should suit now he is older (previous winner track/distance). Material Man looks a moral to defend his Perth Cup after his slashing first up run. The further he goes the better he will go. Don’t be surprised if he lobs on Saturday as he has won from 1200m-2400m in good company. Trap For Fools can’t be dismissed after his shock win in The Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes at Flemington. My concern is the drop from 2000m and he is coming to the end of a very big breakthrough preparation where he raced against the best the country has to offer i.e. WINX!
