Chips In! Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas @TheHeath 13/10/18

Well after a fabulous day at headquarters for #Winx we head back to the heath #Caulfield for 10 stakes races including The Group 1 Caulfield Guineas. It holds a special place in my heart with one of my biggest collects ever from Whobegotyou and of course being in the mounting yard for the event as an owner watching one of my horses go around and looking likely on the turn #Kaching. How good was the queen Winx last week? The heart rate was higher than a Sumo Wrestler running to the fridge at the clock tower but like all champions she knew where the line was. The Melbourne Cup favourite won The Bart Cummings after surviving an emotional protest with Bart’s Grandson enjoying the special win, while Hugh Bowman had more please explains than Pauline Hanson from the stewards after his butcher job on The Chips In Best Bet Rainer. Arguably the biggest thing beat since Shannon Noll on Australian Idol. Despite the weather in Sydney, Saturday promises to be a racing bonanza that looks as good as a Derby or Cox Plate day with The Everest and Guineas on the same day #supersaturday. Sit back and enjoy, bet responsibly, paint the opera house, and remember nothing beats spring #chasethesun #thechips

The Caulfield Guineas (Group 1)

The $1.90 seems the right price for The Autumn Sun after his stunning win in The Group 1 Golden Rose. Last on the corner, last at the 300m, midfield at the 200m, he sprouted wings like a smart horse and he collected the chocolates in an exciting finish. Again, I apologise to the 3 year old I knocked over when celebrating at Morphettville #picnicbasket.  Barrier 5 will give James McDonald options, he arguably should be undefeated, and really the only unknown is the Caulfield factor. He will get the pace to suit, he will eat up the 1600m, and he is easily the best bet of the day #chipsin

Leonardo Da Hinchi broke through at the valley for a well-deserved win after chasing one time favourite for this race #Brutal at Flemington. He is another one that will thrive over 1600m, he can savage the line late with the right run, and the ‘up and coming’ trainer Darren Weir has his stable flying. Barrier 10 looks a bit sticky but with a gun ride from Brad Rawiller he can be in the finish. Muswellbrook offers value at $35 if you consider Leonardo Da Hinchi.

Native Soldier looks promising after taking out the Caulfield Guineas Prelude. The run before was a ripper when exposed a long way from home behind Encryption who came from the clouds (god bless him). Should get a good run from barrier 4 and may give something for The Autumn Sun to chase down late. Oohood finally broke the maiden tag with an impressive win in The Group 1 Flight Stakes. $10 is a good price for a horse who is flying and he seems to run well at Caulfield. He needs luck but he will be charging late.

Selections: The Autumn Sun (1) – Leonardo Da Hinchi (4) – Oohood (15) – Native Soldier (2) – Muswellbrook (7)
